We should have planned the weekend well, where to go and such. Beingan a typical Singaporean, I forgot Singaporean’s favourite pass time is to eat. So wherever we went, it was packed with people and there’s always a super long Q. Not a fantastic idea with 2 toddlers in tow. Luckily we have 2 iphones ard to keep them entertained, at least for awhile.

That will teach me a lesson – to always plan ahead, and to make sure I make reservations for all meals!

Girls to Women, School to Office, Single to Married… different stages of life, we experienced them together. We will continue the many more stages till the end.
It’s a busy world – clearing tons of work, pampering the kids and hubby, we still manage to meet atleast 4 times a year on our birthdays, for the past 18 years of friendship.
Last year, we finally had our 1st overseas trip. Shop, eat, chat and relax together, with the support from our lovely families! We treasured the time spent together and enjoyed ourselves to the fullest!

 
It will be so lucky for us if we were to win this trip! It’s going to be a heaven for us, and it just seems like the very 1st movie we watched together – Sex and the City movie! Let it be a coincidence!

Yes, you must be wondering why we finally watched our first movie this year after 18 years of friendship! Beats me….perhaps we’re really that busy. But that has not stopped us from loving each other and trying our very best to meet up!

There isn’t a single moment our minds (and yes, OUR minds cos the babes are circulating emails EVERYDAY) that we’re not thinking about the trip. What to wear,? what to bring? which bikini to bring? should I get new bikini?? What about club wear?? Oh my oh my….tons of preparation to do! Stay tune for pics and updates on the trip people! You know you want to….*wink*

Ok, so that’s for Nov. Dec is another exciting month for us. It’s babies 2 yr old birthday party!!!!! I keep wondering where and what to prepare for them..and everytime I think about who to invite…the headache becomes intense! Seriously, they haven’t got any ‘friends’, except the next door neighbor’s dgt whom they call ‘jiejie’…other than that…no one they really know or play with. Boring right? Any ideas/contributions/comments on what to do for 2-yr-olds?

So ending this…people…its gonna be a blurdy exciting yr end, so keep a lookout on this space!!

Laughed till I rolled on the floor. Only to realise that it isn’t so funny afterall. They’re both at the stage where they mimick us – 100%. I hug Marcus, she hugs Marcus. I drink water, he drinks water. Marcus cough, they both pretend to cough! Really have to watch what we say and do, lest they learn the infamous F*** word from us!!

Taking care of them are undeniably tiring, but at the same time, very fulfilling and a wonderful feeling. Last night, the topic of me being a full- or part-time housewife surfaced again. While we are planning to put them in nursery soon, I have plans to be home and take care of things while we can save on the maids salary and levy. Marcus feels that I shouldn’t be isolated from the society, and definitely not a good idea since that means a slight decrease in our household income (ya, my pathetic income isn’t too significant).

I begin to wonder if there are other working mothers out there who thinks about the same thing over and over again…sigh…

So peeps, what have I missed? Well, you guys have certainly missed the tremendously fun growing path of my kiddos, Nathan and Gizelle. They’re officially 18 mths now, and almost legal to go for pre-nursery school! Oh man, think I’m gonna tear when I see them in their school uniform! *sobz*!

Right…so mummy hip is no longer that hip. Well, at least I tried. I took up Bachata classes from Gary again since last month. The first class was really fun, revising the steps, but what took me by surprise was that I’m simply not as flexible as I used to be (ok, I didn’t use to be a contortionist, ok?) and to make things worst, I had backache for the next few days after the class!! 完蛋了啦!! Guess my only exercise I can think of getting for the next few months to come would be chasing after these ever hyperactive imps! BUT!! I’m still very Onz for clubbing ok!! Pls remember my number whenever you go clubbing!! JIO ME PLS!!

On the social life side, I’m doing pretty well la. I just met up with a junior/ex-colleague/friend – Eliza and her hubby Russell over breakfast. Ok, social life – checked. It was a really good catch up, and I’m so happy to be able to spend time with friends as well as the kids together, makes me feel less guilty! Plus, Russell and Eliza both loves kids, so they’re really handy to have around! Hehe…I suppose I (or We as in Marcus and myself) can do with some social life now since the kids are getting bigger, and I’m having the preference to not go out with ppl with children ard the same age becos most ppl with kids ard the same age as my kids likes to compare their ‘achievements’ on a daily basis.

You may ask, “what’s so bad about exchanging some pointers?’ Look here – I am talking about bragging mother(s) who tell ppl that her kiddo is so smart that he/she can do this and that……  *roll eyeball*. I’m trying hard as I am not to compare my two kids with each other, cos I truely believe that each kids have their own learning curve, and that they should not be pressured to learn. On top of that, as per my previous blog, I think character development is definitely more impt than any academic achievements. So…yup, save those ‘pointers’ to yourself pls.

Phew, that was a rather huge mouthful of grievances. haha…nah, really, its just something someone brought it up lately about my social life – abt not meeting up and stuff. Seriously peeps, look at me – I’m too knacked to do anything except drop dead on my bed everynight after I put them to sleep. If you think you’re tired with one monkey, trust me, two of ‘em makes a hell lot of difference. Maybe when they get bigger, things will get better. Yeap, I’m sure it will.

Right, so I should get going and do something else. Let’s see when it’d be the next time I get around to do some bloggin again! Ciaoz ppl!

My initial thoughts were,’waliao, sgrn jialat liao la. This kind of simple gesture, also need to promote, what’s there left in our integrity? Sure wun work just like the smiley lion who promotes courtesy!!’ I guess my skeptical thoughts came from those days when I was pregnant with the big tummy, of which anyone would be an idiot not to be able to tell that I’m pregnant. Young man sit on the ‘priority seats’ and pretend to be asleep or reading away, when I’m standing right in front of him, with my tummy jutting out at him. He’s be blind not to see it.

I make it an effort not to sit on the priority seats, reserving it for those who needs it. However, at times when I sees that despite my effort, there are some ugly sgrn who just bluck their stupid big fat asses onto the priority seats without a single ounce of guilt. I get very angry with these people, but then again, the other side of the arguement would be,’we paid the same bus/mrt fare, why do I have to give up my seat to them?’

The other day on the train home, I saw this young, polytechnic age gurl on the priority seat, reading a novel. Standing diagonally across her was a lady about 60, undoubtedly well and healthy and able to stand on her own. However, wouldn’t the gurl be even more able to stand and be good for her to give up the seat to the elderly lady? I stared hard at her, finally when I couldn’t take it anymore, I asked the gurl to give the seat up for the elderly lady. The elderly lady accepted it, and sigh a heave of relief as she sat down. She must be really tired!!

On the other hand, I saw a mother telling her young son on the SMRT bus,’ah boy, this seat is of a different color from the other seats, so that means its meant for people who needs the seat more. Let’s walk to the back and take the other seats.’ I smiled to myself, and I think,’WAH!! still got gracious singaporean!! We’re not bound to be doomed yet!!’

Being a mother of two myself, I constantly remind myself of the ways I should educate and teach my kids. I’m probably not the type who’d spare the rod, but I believe teaching (as in talking) the kids the right morales are very important, especially social consciousness. Keeping public toilets clean, not splattering water all over the public toilet floors, and also behaving in public are all social consciousness which I hope to teach my kids.

Having said that, it reminds me that my kids are now almost 7 months old! They’re now learning how to mimick our actions, and laugh at the slightest silly things we do. I’d think this is the point where we should all set good examples for the kids. Rounding it off, here’s the lates pic of them!

Other than that, we’ve been busy with weddings, family gatherings and what not…its so tiring. What makes it worst is that, when we visits the auntie’s of marcus, I get unfriendly remarks like ‘oh, 外婆家不好，不要去外婆家，来这里啦’ ….u hear already, its so upsetting lor. It doesn’t help when Marcus didn’t hear it (as always, he never hears anything like that, so I don’t get defensed) and thus I can jus helplessly let them say whatever they want…sigh..what makes it EVEN worst is that the auntie came to our house on sunday, and my mum was here too. Gizelle was kicking up a fuss cos she’s rather stranger anxious, so when she saw my mum, she wailed and wailed. But when the auntie came, she didn’t cry immediately, and the auntie told my mum that Giz didn’t cry when we visited last weekend, and now Giz see my mum, she cries. Does this ppl ever think of how their words can hurt other ppl? Why are they so insensitive? How does those words make my mum or myself feel? I’m upset till this day, and I dun see Marcus trying to do anything at all. I am seriously upset with them and Marcus, but realli, what can I do when even my own husband don’t wan to stand up for me?

Typically me, I started researching on…HANDPHONES!! I’ve been eyeing at the Samsung Omnia for the longest time now, and since I can use his line to extend the contract and get the phone at a cheaper price, why not!? So my ‘reward’ as a twin mum will arrive tonight!! Hand delivered by M1 delivery boy!! Yippie!

But before the prize  come, we had a dinner for two (finally, cos sat and sun, we had meals together with a whole lot of ppl!) at suntec. Turkey food we had, and it was a nice, warm little restaurant, I think its family biz.

 To end off the night, we finally got a picture taken, just the two of us. Since the babies arrived, we’ve not taken any pictures alone! I realli enjoyed the evening, some time off together, and also to get away from the babies for awhile. It felt refreshing, and at the same time, allowed us to chat again like we used to

Speaking of which, this week’s weather is so bad. One moment super sunny, one moment heavy rain. One of the day the rain was so heavy, the sky looked like a piece of grey cloth. Then the rain was POURING! Here’s the pic as proof!

And without us realising, our babies have grown alot..not so much physically, but cognitively and intestinally! (If there’s ever such a word) As they go into their 5th Month, Gizelle have started to stare at us eatig, putting everything into her mouth, and finishing her 180ml bottle in less than 5 min and wanting more! Nathan’s not as ‘hungry’ as Gizelle, but he’s managing his 180ml bottle well too, and they’re both waking up in the middle of the night for at least one feed now.

We decided that its time to start weaning them. I stared them off with 1tsp rice cereals, and then 2 tsp…and they took it so well! Ok, Nathan might have needed a longer period of time to finish off the same amt, but didn’t he always? On 1st May, we started them on sweet potato!! They absolutely loved it!! Gizelle would make noise and ‘wai’ at you to feed her faster, while Nathan, as usual, takes his own sweet time to savour the sweet potato…hehehe..its a very enjoyable moment to watch them eat!!

Alright..let me go jote down what they’ve tried and whether there’s any reaction or not…jia you babies!!
