Insufferable dilemma
June 16, 2010
Nat and Giz are growing so fast now that I can’t seem to keep up with them. Just last night, while I was playing with Gizelle running around the house, as I playfully pretend to give her a karate kick, going “phish” at the same time. She ran around the house, laughing, and the next thing I know..she came from my back and kicked me in the knee, going “phish!” too!
Laughed till I rolled on the floor. Only to realise that it isn’t so funny afterall. They’re both at the stage where they mimick us – 100%. I hug Marcus, she hugs Marcus. I drink water, he drinks water. Marcus cough, they both pretend to cough! Really have to watch what we say and do, lest they learn the infamous F*** word from us!!
Taking care of them are undeniably tiring, but at the same time, very fulfilling and a wonderful feeling. Last night, the topic of me being a full- or part-time housewife surfaced again. While we are planning to put them in nursery soon, I have plans to be home and take care of things while we can save on the maids salary and levy. Marcus feels that I shouldn’t be isolated from the society, and definitely not a good idea since that means a slight decrease in our household income (ya, my pathetic income isn’t too significant).
I begin to wonder if there are other working mothers out there who thinks about the same thing over and over again…sigh…
